Department of Engineering Physics
HOD: Dr. Prabodh Sahai Saxena
Location: LNCT Building
Department of Physics is started in the year 1994 with an intake of 180 students. The department has adequate, qualified and experienced faculty in cadre ratios for present intake of 1140 students. Dr. Prabodh Sahay Saxena is Professor and Head of the Department. They are encouraged in research and publish papers in the field of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology, Material Science and Space Science.
The department has a well equipped Physics Lab with equipments like Plank’s constants set-up, Gas LASER, Optical Fiber, Hall Effect, G.M. Counter, Optical Instruments and Semiconductor Diodes. Research assistance for paper presentation and travel grants for India and abroad are provided by LNCT and government agencies like MPCST, AICTE, and DST.
Department has conducted national conferences frequently. Newsletter “Voice of LNCT” is published annually by the department. Orientation programs and cultural activities are regularly conducted.
